The New York City Department of Buildings SST 10 Worker course is designed to satisfy the mandatory Site Safety Training requirements for workers on major construction projects throughout New York City. This course provides participants with critical awareness and practical knowledge related to fall prevention, supported scaffold safety, personal protective equipment, hazard recognition, and safe work practices in accordance with NYC DOB regulations and applicable OSHA standards. Successful completion of this course helps workers meet the training requirements necessary to obtain or renew an SST Worker card for work on designated NYC construction sites.
Courses Included in Bundle: 8 HR Fall Prevention & 2 HR Mental Health Awareness (Formerly 2 HR Drug & Alcohol Awareness)
PLEASE NOTE: Students must also have completed and passed the OSHA 30 construction industry course, within the last 5 years, to qualify for a NYC DOB training connect SST 10 blue worker card. All modules and assessments must be completed with 70% passing score.

Course/Activity Information

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the purpose and requirements of the NYC DOB Site Safety Training (SST) program.
  • Recognize common construction site hazards and apply safe work practices to minimize risks.
  • Identify fall hazards and understand methods of fall prevention and fall protection in accordance with OSHA and NYC DOB requirements.
  • Demonstrate awareness of supported scaffold safety procedures, including proper use, access, inspection, and hazard recognition.
  • Understand the importance and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Recognize unsafe conditions involving ladders, stairways, walking/working surfaces, and elevated work areas.
  • Identify worker responsibilities related to jobsite safety, communication, and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Understand emergency procedures, incident prevention, and hazard control measures on construction sites.
  • Reinforce safe work habits and regulatory compliance necessary for maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
