The New York City Department of Buildings SST 32-Hour Supervisor Upgrade from SST 10 Worker course is designed for individuals who currently hold a valid SST Worker card and are seeking to upgrade to an SST Supervisor card. This 22-hour upgrade course provides advanced construction safety training focused on supervisory responsibilities, hazard recognition, fall prevention, worker protection, supported scaffold safety, and regulatory compliance in accordance with NYC DOB and applicable OSHA standards. Successful completion of this course allows eligible participants to satisfy the additional training requirements necessary to obtain an SST Supervisor card.
SST 32 Upgrade – Eligibility Requirements To qualify for an SST 32 Upgrade under New York City Department of Buildings (Local Law 196), workers must:
-Hold a valid SST 10 HR Worker card -Hold a valid OSHA 30 Construction industry

Understand the additional responsibilities and requirements associated with the NYC DOB SST Supervisor designation.
Identify and evaluate common construction site hazards and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Apply advanced fall prevention and fall protection requirements in accordance with OSHA and NYC DOB standards.
Recognize supported scaffold hazards and ensure safe scaffold operations, inspections, and worker practices.
Understand supervisory responsibilities related to jobsite safety, worker accountability, and regulatory compliance.
Reinforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work procedures.
Recognize unsafe conditions and implement hazard control measures to reduce incidents and injuries.
Understand emergency response procedures, incident reporting, and accident prevention strategies.
