The OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry course is an advanced occupational safety and health training program designed for construction workers, supervisors, foremen, site safety personnel, and individuals with safety responsibilities on construction jobsites. This comprehensive course provides participants with an in-depth understanding of OSHA standards, hazard recognition, accident prevention, and employer/employee rights and responsibilities under the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
The course focuses on identifying, avoiding, controlling, and preventing hazards commonly found in the construction industry. Topics include OSHA regulations, the Focus Four Hazards (falls, struck-by, caught-in/between, and electrocution), personal protective equipment (PPE), scaffolds, ladders, excavation safety, electrical safety, cranes and rigging, material handling, health hazards, and safety management practices.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive an OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry completion card issued through an authorized OSHA Outreach Training Program provider.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This Training course is proctored. If you are using a smartphone to complete your training, you will be required to have a SECONDARY mobile device to for authentication purposes. If you are using your laptop, you will also be required to use a mobile device for voice authentication.

Course/Activity Information

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the purpose and scope of OSHA and worker rights under the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
  • Identify common construction jobsite hazards and methods used to prevent injuries and illnesses.
  • Recognize and apply OSHA standards related to the Focus Four Hazards:
    • Falls
    • Struck-by incidents
    • Caught-in/between hazards
    • Electrocution hazards
  • Demonstrate proper use and limitations of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Identify safe work practices for scaffolds, ladders, stairways, and elevated work surfaces.
  • Recognize excavation and trenching hazards and understand protective systems used to prevent cave-ins.
  • Explain safe practices for electrical safety, lockout/tagout awareness, and power tool operation.
  • Identify material handling, crane, rigging, and heavy equipment hazards.
  • Recognize health hazards including silica, asbestos, noise exposure, and hazardous chemicals.
  • Understand employer and employee responsibilities for maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.
  • Apply hazard recognition and accident prevention techniques to real-world construction environments.
  • Promote a positive safety culture through effective communication, planning, and jobsite awareness.
