The OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry course is an introductory occupational safety and health training program designed for entry-level construction workers and individuals seeking to gain a fundamental understanding of workplace safety and OSHA regulations. The course provides essential training on recognizing, avoiding, and preventing hazards commonly encountered on construction jobsites.
Participants will receive instruction on OSHA standards, worker rights, employer responsibilities, and the importance of maintaining a safe and healthful work environment. Key topics include the OSHA Focus Four Hazards (falls, struck-by, caught-in/between, and electrocution), personal protective equipment (PPE), ladders, scaffolds, tools, health hazards, and general jobsite safety practices.
This course is intended to increase hazard awareness and promote safe work practices throughout the construction industry. Upon successful completion, participants will receive an OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry completion card issued through an authorized OSHA Outreach Training Program provider.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This Training course is proctored. If you are using a smartphone to complete your training, you will be required to have a SECONDARY mobile device to for authentication purposes. If you are using your laptop, you will also be required to use a mobile device for voice authentication.

Course/Activity Information

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the purpose of OSHA and worker rights under the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
  • Identify common construction jobsite hazards and methods used to reduce or eliminate risks.
  • Recognize the OSHA Focus Four Hazards:
    • Falls
    • Struck-by hazards
    • Caught-in/between hazards
    • Electrocution hazards
  • Demonstrate awareness of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and its safe use.
  • Identify safe practices related to ladders, stairways, and scaffolds.
  • Recognize electrical hazards and basic electrical safety procedures.
  • Identify common health hazards in construction, including exposure to hazardous substances and noise.
  • Understand safe use of hand and power tools.
  • Recognize the importance of maintaining housekeeping and safe jobsite conditions.
  • Apply basic hazard recognition and accident prevention techniques in construction environments.
  • Promote personal responsibility and safe work habits on the jobsite.
